Berry, Fruit and Grapevine Sources On and Off the Web
Every great homemade wine starts before the fermentation vessel, before the yeast, before the hydrometer comes out of the drawer. It starts with the fruit. Whether you’re hunting down a cold-hardy hybrid vine for a Minnesota winter, tracking muscadine cuttings in the Georgia heat, or sourcing fresh-picked vinifera grapes from a California shipper, knowing where to look is half the battle. This directory is a starting point — a map to the nurseries, vineyards, and specialty growers scattered across North America who can put the right raw material in your hands.
The beginner trap: New winemakers often buy whatever fruit is cheapest or most convenient rather than sourcing a variety that’s actually suited to their climate or winemaking goal — and the wine suffers for it from day one.
This page is a reference list, not a step-by-step recipe. No fermentation method or ingredient quantities apply here. Use the directory below to find a reputable source for grapevines, berries, or fruit near you.

Notes
Availability changes — nurseries close, move, or go online-only, so confirm contact details before you order. If you’re making fruit wine rather than grape wine, your local farmers market or a pick-your-own farm is often the fastest and freshest option, and many grocery stores carry frozen blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries year-round that work just as well in the fermenter. For grapevines specifically, always ask the nursery whether the variety is certified disease-free — planting infected stock is an expensive mistake that takes years to show up.
